Community foundations Australia – 2024 forum

Last week, Michelle our Executive Officer was in the Northern Rivers, Bundjalung Country, at Forum Week 2024, hosted by Community Foundations Australia.

Forum Week is an incredible event that brings together leaders in community philanthropy, policymakers, funders, and innovators to explore Horizons—past, present, and future—and strengthen the foundations of our communities.

Michelle co-facilitated two sessions on Tuesday, November 26th:
🕦 11:30 AM: Regional Strategies for Community Foundations
🌞 12:15 PM: Renewable Energy Transition

The learnings and sharing from the abundant community in this foundation network have been invaluable.
Some of the key takeaways have been around:
➡️ Renewables and highlighting the vast number of players in this space. This includes all levels of government, private industry and developers.

It was acknowledged that the community voice is often omitted from various government led working groups. So the work of CFAus renewables group will continue to develop a united position and advocate in the renewables space for the community voice 🗣️

➡️ Regional strategies and recognising the amazing work of regional and rural community foundations and a vast difference in the size and diversity of their communities 🌳

There is a lot of information and knowledge that Michelle can now bring back and share with our Gippsland communities.
